Consumer Directed Choices (CDChoices), a nonprofit organization that provides payroll and administrative services to seniors and people with disabilities who manage their own care, honored National Nonprofit Day with a day of service in the community.
Staff members from CDChoices volunteered at the City Mission of Schenectady, an organization dedicated to providing meals, shelter, and supportive services to individuals and families experiencing homelessness or hardship. Volunteers assisted with kitchen prep for the lunch shift and helped serve meals to guests.
Supporting the mission of another nonprofit is a meaningful way to celebrate National Nonprofit Day. It’s a reminder that nonprofits strengthen communities in many different ways, and CDChoices is proud to contribute to that effort.
National Nonprofit Day, observed annually on August 17, recognizes the vital role and impact nonprofit organizations have on communities and highlights the importance of collaboration and service. By partnering with the City Mission of Schenectady, CDChoices extended its mission of empowering independence beyond home care, contributing to the well-being of neighbors in the Capital Region.
