CEO Christopher Graber meets with Congressman Paul Tonko to advocate for CDPAP funding

CDChoices CEO Christopher Graber participated in a round table discussion with Congressman Paul Tonko this past month to advocate for CDPA funding pertaining to the Better Care Better Jobs Act. This legislation would provide a historic investment that prioritizes wage and benefit increases to workers who provide care to consumers receiving Medicaid home and community-based services. Graber says, “Policy needs to match our values, and we must protect the most vulnerable. It’s time to put the money where our heart is!” This proposal will expand access to good-quality care, lead to better pay and benefits for workers, enhance the quality of life for families, and help create middle-class jobs. “At CDChoices, we recognize the importance of the work that personal care aides provide to individuals with disabilities, but to continue these efforts, we need the enactment of the Better Care Better Jobs Act, which will provide the resources needed for the future to really sustain the investment needed in this field,” says Graber.
