Advocacy in Action

This Spring, advocates from CDChoices joined others to educate legislators about the importance of Consumer Directed Personal Assistance (CDPA). They participated in the Consumer Directed Personal Assistance Association of NYS and New York Association on Independent Living joint Legislative Day in February. Consumers and Designated Representatives met with New York State Senators and Assemblymembers to share personal stories of CDPA.

You can become involved in advocacy even if you can’t get to the Capitol! Join the CDPAANYS and CDChoices advocacy lists. Find your legislators using the CDPAANYS Voter Voice and send them an email. Call your representatives and say “Save CDPA!”
