New Consumer Resource

We are happy to announce that the new Consumer Lending Library is ready for use – and the most exciting feature is that it is accessible for wheelchair users!

If you are a wheelchair user, you know accessing things that aren’t within easy reach can be frustrating or downright impossible. We wanted a way to allow someone in a seated position to access all the books on the shelves. Our solution was this beautifully built, custom-made cabinet with electric shelves which move up and down. If you are interested in a book on a high shelf, no problem. Just press the switch to rotate the shelves down to your level.

The library includes many books Consumers may find beneficial as an employer, as well as books about various disability issues and self-help topics. The main categories include:

  • Communicating
  • Difficult Situations
  • Disability
  • Diversity
  • Employee Development & Retention
  • Employer Basics (Human Resources)
  • Work Performance (Human Resources)
  • Recruiting (including recruiting specific to home care)
  • Self-Improvement
  • Supervising (including supervising by coaching)

Consumers can access the complete list of titles by logging into the secure Consumer Resource section of the CDChoices website. For questions about the lending library, please contact Margie, CDChoices Peer Mentor.
