The Peer Mentoring Department consists of program participants who are highly trained to assist other participants through the self-direction process. If participants are looking for information on how to interview candidates, check references, train, or supervise employees, the Peer Mentor can share information and resources available. Working with a Peer Mentor, can increase your confidence as an employer and help you feel empowered to make choices that support your right to manage your own care. You don’t have to face the challenges of being an employer alone!

- How to recruit personal assistants
- Creating a job ad or writing a job description
- Checking references
- Learning how to supervise and manage personal assistants once they’re hired
