Consumer Directed Choices, Inc. (CDChoices) takes the privacy and security of our customers seriously. This Privacy Statement explains what information is collected on our website, how that information may be used, and who has access. It also explains your options regarding the collection and use of your information. Users of our services include customers and visitors to our websites. CDChoices may require certain information to allow downloads from our websites. By using our website at https://www.cdchoices.org/, you are accepting and agreeing to our privacy policy.

What personal information does CDChoices collect?

CDChoices collects information necessary for inclusion into PAChoices. This information may include some or all of the following: name, address, telephone number and e-mail address. Information is collected via various methods including personal information provided to us during telephone conversations, email, forms, or use of PAChoices. The information collected may be used to contact you through phone or email if requested.

We may participate in Facebook and Google’s Custom Audience programs which enables us to display personalized ads to persons on our email lists when they visit Facebook.com or websites within the Google Display Network. We provide personal information such as your email address and phone number to Facebook and Google to enable the websites to determine if you are a registered account holder. You may opt-out of participation in our Facebook Custom Audience or Google Custom Audience by sending an email, from the email address you are opting out of, to the email address provided in our contact information.

Website Visit

Our websites can be accessed with a browser navigating to www.cdchoice.org and others as well as by viewing an email that has web address links inside of the message. When you visit our website, our server logs your IP Address, and other information such as the time and duration of your visit and pages you view. If you arrive at our website by clicking a non-paid source, such as link in a non-paid search engine result or an unsponsored link on another website, we may capture information that tracks your visit from that source to the extent we are able to do so. We may also capture information about your computer system, such as your browser type and operating system.

We do not collect personal information about you as part of a web visit, but web visit information may be tied to other information (including personal information) we collect from you via chat, web forms, and the other means we describe in this Privacy Statement.

Links to non-CDChoices Websites: We may provide links to third-party websites for your convenience and information. The privacy practices of those sites may differ from CDChoices practices and are not controlled by CDChoices and covered by this Privacy Statement. We do not make any representations about third-party websites. We encourage you to review their privacy policies before submitting your personal data.

How will your information be used?

CDChoices will only use client account information for user identification, delivery of services, communications about our services, providing secure access to our web portals, personalization of your client experience, system maintenance announcements, and updates of any other information that you have opted to receive.

CDChoices will never use or monitor customer contact information, except as required by law. All backup files that contain that information are contained within a secure datacenter and can only be accessed via your account.

What third parties will have access to your information?

CDChoices recognizes that your information should be shared with as few third parties as possible. CDChoices will never sell, trade or transfer your information to third party marketers. CDChoices shares data on an as-needed basis to third parties for processing only.

Personal information that is gathered is for internal use only and will not be released to anyone outside of CDChoices except to third party service providers who perform functions on behalf of CDChoices. Data is shared to the extent reasonably necessary to perform that function and will not be authorized to use for any other purpose, unless you have consented to such use.

Should you breach our terms and conditions or website terms, or if we are under a duty to disclose or share your personal data in order to comply with any legal obligation, we may disclose your information to a relevant authority. This may include exchanging information with other companies and organizations for the purposes of fraud protection. In particular, we may release the information we collect to third parties when we believe it is appropriate to comply with the law, to enforce our legal rights, to protect the rights and safety of others, or to assist with industry efforts to control fraud, spam or other undesirable conduct.

Advertising and Analytics

CDChoices collects data about your activities that do not personally or directly identify you when you visit our website, or the websites and online services where we display advertisements. The information may include the content you view, the date and time that you view this content, or your location information associated with your IP address. We use the information we collect to serve you more relevant advertisements (referred to as “Retargeting”) online. We collect information about where you saw the ads we serve you and what ads you click on. You may opt out of Google’s use fo cookies or device identifiers by visiting Google’s Ads Settings.

Additionally, we use Hotjar in order to better understand our users’ needs and to optimize this service and experience. Hotjar is a technology service that helps us better understand our users’ experience (e.g. how much time they spend on which pages, which links they choose to click, what users do and don’t like, etc.) and this enables us to build and maintain our service with user feedback. Hotjar uses cookies and other technologies to collect data on our users’ behavior and their devices. This includes a device’s IP address (processed during your session and stored in a de-identified form), device screen size, device type (unique device identifiers), browser information, geographic location (country only), and the preferred language used to display our website. Hotjar stores this information on our behalf in a pseudonymized user profile. Hotjar is contractually forbidden to sell any of the data collected on our behalf. Cookies

Cookies are files with small amounts of data, which may include an anonymous unique identifier. Cookies are sent to your browser from a web site and stored on your computer’s hard drive. Like many sites, we use Cookies to serve you with advertisements that may be relevant to you and your interests. How can you say “no” to marketing information?

CDChoices does not want to bother you. It is our responsibility to deliver any critical system update messages, but you have the choice to opt-in or opt-out of other electronic mailings, updates, or offers at any time. If you no longer wish to hear from CDChoices, you may opt out of all future communication via an unsubscribe link at the bottom of every email. 

How can you control your information?

CDChoices recognizes that you should have the final say about the information stored within our systems. You may change your identification and contact information stored in our systems any time on request.
